Parrish Dewayne Lancaster

Parrish Dewayne Lancaster, beloved Son, Brother, Husband, Dad, Grandpa, and Friend passed away on February 4, 2024 at UMMC after a fatal Car accident. He was born on August 26th 1970 in Jackson, MS and was a resident of Terry, MS.

Parrish was one of the hardest working people you could ever know. There was nothing he couldn’t do. He would do for any and everyone no matter the task at hand. Parrish spent his whole life doing what he knew best, construction, which he called hanging metal. There is not a city in the state of MS that he doesn’t have buildings he built in them. To say we are so proud of him would be an understatement.

But Parrish dedication extended far beyond his career. He was a man with an incredible spirit of kindness. His sweet nature and willingness to help others left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Parrish’s family held a very special place in his heart, especially his Mom. He spent countless hours taking care of odds and ends. Whether it was tending to the yard, Building a carport and shop or assisting with household repairs, he always went above and beyond to ensure they had everything they needed above his own. This Man would literally work 7 days a week, until 2 years ago when he was diagnosed with CHF, that’s when he went to 6 days a week. He always ended conversion with his family with I love you and no matter what or how he was feeling you would say see you tomorrow and he would reply back with, “that’s a promise”. What a day it will be when God calls us home and we will see him again and he keeps that promise.

Parrish will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family, his exceptional skills of building metal buildings, his selfless nature, his love for fishing, his tender heart, and being the most humble person you came across. He loved his family and friends with his whole heart. God had an Angel walking amongst us for 53 short years. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Parrish is preceded in death by his father Wayne Douglas Lancaster, God Father Wayne Myers, Stepmother Paula Lancaster, Brother Mark McCausley.
